Imagine this…
Rich woodland embedding you in secrecy. Acoustic guitar strings echoing on ripe leaves. Vows made in front of bright flowing streamers. Vibrant paper lanterns bobbing in the trees. And a delicious breeze with notes of a Sausage and Pear culinary creation making its way onto the scene…
We were highly honoured to cater for Rachel and Jamie at their woodland wedding. The Sausage and Pear team were excited to be in attendance as Rachel is the sister of esteemed Rock N Roll Bride owner, Kat Williams.
So what did we do, we hear you ask? We put on a culinary show to match this couple’s amazing day… (And it really was amazing, we’re talking llamas with bows on, top hats and tweed, rainbow hair and toadstools hidden in the greenery – it was nothing short of magical.)
We teased guests with a taste of things to come with our canapés…
Tenderly roasted squash, ricotta and crispy sage crostinis, tasty marinated king prawn skewers, rich red onion marmalade, goats cheese and walnut crisp breads, and earthy wild mushroom and creamy stilton tarts…
Whatever the venue, whoever the couple, we make sure that our Sausage and Pear dishes are suited perfectly to the Bride and Groom to offer some delicious first memories as Mr and Mrs.
Jamie and Rachel started with plump stuffed red peppers, juicy slow roasted tomatoes, Mediterranean olives and pickles, fresh bread served with dips and hummus, and a selection of cheese to keep any cheese lover’s appetite satisfied.
But the showcase of the meal was the mains; guests connected over tender roast rump of lamb, with crispy topped potato dauphinoise, and fresh seasonal veg. Shared stories over delicately herb crusted salmon, buttery baby new potatoes and greens. And toasted the happy couple over a creamy brie, courgette, potato and almond crumble and a flavoursome vegan risotto.
Everyone finished off their dining experience with a stunning wedding cake by Choccywoccydoodah with fresh summer berries and cream – the perfect end to a gorgeous first meal as a married couple. Congratulations Rachel and Jamie!
Sausage and Pear is proud to hold the title of Best Wedding Caterer in the 2016 Wedding Industry Awards. Our rustic dishes bring people together, no matter the event. We speak the universal language of food, from a seedling of an idea, a quick recipe jot down on paper, a thoughtful blending of herbs, to concept creation and plating up; our dishes are thoughtful, innovative, and tantalising, meaning that your guests will always be surprised, satisfied and left wanting more forkfuls from Sausage and Pear…
